A job costing app built by a contractor, for contractors
You know what you bid. The hard part is knowing what the job actually cost. Hours sit in one place. Receipts sit in the truck. By the time it's all added up, you're three jobs down the road.
Banay OS™ keeps the costs on the job as they happen. Crew hours, receipts and materials land on the job they belong to. So each job carries its own P&L.
Live, automated P&L for every job.*
Why job costing slips for small contractors
Most small contractors don't skip job costing on purpose. It slips because the numbers come from three places at three different times.
- Hours come in at the end of the week, often on paper or in a text.
- Receipts pile up in the truck, the glovebox or a shoebox.
- Materials get picked up on the way to the site, sometimes for two jobs at once.
When those don't meet until tax season, you can't tell which jobs made money. You only learn how the year went, not which job or which kind of work carried it.
How Banay OS keeps costs on the job
Banay OS was built by Dominic, a general contractor who got tired of not knowing what each job cost him or made him, and of all the paperwork that comes with it. He built it to see his own job numbers without a night at the kitchen table. It's now opening to contractors across the US.
Crew hours tied to each job
Crew clock in from their phone. Hours show by week, tied to each job. You see who worked where without chasing timesheets.
Receipts filed to the job
Snap a receipt and it's filed to the job. No more sorting a stack of paper at the end of the month.
One P&L per job
Hours, receipts and materials roll into that job's P&L. Open a job and you see where it stands. Open jobs show a preliminary number. It becomes official once the job's final P&L is in.
What "job costing" means, in plain words
Job costing means tracking revenue and costs for each job separately, instead of only for the whole business. For a residential contractor, a job's costs usually include:
- Labor hours for your crew
- Materials and supplies
- Subcontractors
- Dump fees, rentals and permits
Revenue minus those costs is the job's profit. Track that on every job and patterns show up. You see which kinds of work pay, which clients run long, and where a bid was light.

Who it's for
Banay OS is for small residential contractors. That means owner-operators, small crews and growing remodel companies. It's built for people who run the job and the office from the same phone.
The crew app is available in English, Brazilian Portuguese and Mexican Spanish. Your crew can work in the language they think in.

Is the job P&L final while the job is open?
No. Open jobs show a preliminary P&L that updates each time you open it. It becomes official once the job's final P&L is in.
Can my crew see job costs?
Job costs and P&Ls are for the owner. Crew use Banay OS to clock in from their phone.
Does Banay OS send invoices automatically?
Not yet. Automatic invoices are coming soon. Join the early-access waitlist to hear when they're ready.
